---------------------- S16h. Modeling reality ---------------------- In describing reality from a physics point of view, the person modeling a system of interest makes certain choices. These consist in choosing a mathematical model of the system, and setting up a correspondence between informal objects related to the system and formal objects in the mathematical model. More specifically, an assertion about reality is modelled as a mathematical assertion about mathematical objects in the mathematical model that carry the same names as those in the reality they are supposed to model.
